These terms apply to the Sudoku app for Android and iOS and to this website. By installing the app or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not, do not install the app and do not use the site.
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. That licence lasts as long as you follow these terms.
You may not:
The app has no registration and no login. Your progress, best times and settings live on your device and nowhere else, which means we cannot restore them for you if the device is lost or reset, or the app is uninstalled. Back-ups are whatever your phone's own back-up system provides.
The site exists to describe the app. Use it lawfully. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, disrupt it, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, or introduce malicious code.
The app's name, icon, artwork, sound effects, text and code are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.
The app and this site use the Fredoka and Titan One typefaces under the SIL Open Font License; their licences ship alongside the font files. Sudoku itself, as a puzzle, is not owned by anyone.
The app is free and is funded by banner advertising served through Google AdMob. Ads come from Google's network, not from us; we do not choose or endorse individual advertisers, and we are not responsible for the products or services they promote. What Google collects in order to serve them is described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update, change or discontinue the app or the site at any time, including removing features. Because the app runs offline, an update only ever reaches you through the app store you installed from.
Where the app or the site links out — to an app store, to Google's policies, to an advertiser — we do not control that destination and are not responsible for its content or its practices.
The app and the site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app is free of defects or that it will run uninterrupted on every device.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app or the site — including lost game progress or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, and disputes are to be resolved there, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
We may revise these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed; continuing to use the app or the site after that counts as accepting the revision.
